The Longest Night

Tonight my family and I will gather around the kitchen table, light a candle, and whisper about the seeds of beauty that this auspicious year has been growing within the dark.

With scraps of papers scratched with ways we need to unburden, we’ll touch them to the flame all while reminding ourselves that the darkness will always give way to the light.

A savior was grown in the secrecy of a womb, seeds grow beneath the black of soil, the stone will be rolled away from the darkened tomb, and little-by-little, our days will grow brighter too.
